Audio Playback Information

You can listen to the original recordings of many of the songs on this site using one of two methods. The first is to use the RealAudio streaming method, which allows you to hear the music as it downloads to your computer. Although the sound quality is not as high, playback will begin almost immediately. In order to take advantage of this method, you must have the Real Player installed and configured on your system. You can find more information, as well as the free Real Player, at the RealNetworks site accessed from the icon below.

The second method of downloading and listening to the original recordings is to use the "Play AIFF" option. This will download a high-quality digital audio file to your computer. Due to the relatively large sizes of these files, this method of playback is recommended only for users with a high-speed connection. These files have been recorded at the "Compact Disc quality" sampling rate, although they are in their original mono format.

As a third option, you may listen to a MIDI (synthesized) version of the melody for each song. These files are quite small, and playback will be almost instantaneous after you click the button.

If you experience problems when you click on the "Play MIDI" or "Play AIFF" buttons, you may need to install one of the many available plug-ins that play these files. These include:
