While under th bed he lay
That burglar man saw a sight, that night
That made his hair turn gray

I am so tired, she said
Then thinking that all was well
She forgot t' look under th bed

An' th hair from off her head
That burglar man had nineteen fits
As he come from under th bed

Or I'll blow off th top of your head

He had no place to scoot
So, he said, to the old maid standing by
